A Few Friends

Would you take a minute to pray for a few of our friends here in Athens?

- “A” is a mother of three, a loving wife, and one of the most resilient people that I know.  She’s a fighter! She led her family from Afghanistan, through Iran and Turkey, to Greece.  She tells of leaving all her earthly possessions on a beach in Turkey as the family boarded a small dinghy headed for a Greek island.  She kept pushing!  She refused to settle! She brings this same resolve to her search for God.  She desperately wants the good and the true!  She wants to know Jesus!  Please pray for this dear friend – that God would enlighten her heart, that she would have the courage to step out in faith! Also, in the midst of her searching, she recently lost an unborn baby (5 months along).  This has raised many questions and doubts in her heart.  Please pray for her healing (physical, emotional, and spiritual).

- Riding his scooter down a dark and unknown street, Brian came to a most undesired stop, tearing up his knee in the process.  Brian and his family are friends and teammates from Australia.  Please pray for him! The doctors have said that Brian has some serious ligament damage.  On top of this, his travel insurance is recommending (mandating?) that he return to Australia for the surgery and subsequent physical therapy (a several month process).  Brian’s knee is in serious condition; the family has some difficult decisions to make; so much is out of their control (at the mercy of insurance companies, etc.).  Please pray for Brian and his family.

- You can see the difference in her face.  “Z” is a single mother in a foreign land trying to care for her family (four kids), find a better future, and – in the midst of chaos – live in the peace of Jesus.  Although “Z” still has a lot of obstacles, you can see the difference that a little love, friendship, and truth has made in her life.  She is already a different woman from the one that entered our ministry center last year.  Please continue to pray for her and her family.  “Z” needs a new house.  Due to some circumstances beyond her control, she needs to be out of her current apartment in three weeks.  Would you please pray that God would provide a new place for this dear family to live?
