Monday was a first for the Sanner family: Dermabond! That’s right, Sofia had to get her head glued back together after falling off a chair. Ouch! I’m happy to report, however, that – despite the nasty cut – Sofia is back to her playful self and now has a delightful story to tell her friends [...]

2009 Year in Review
I’ve learned most of my important life lessons from cartoons. Case in point:
I don’t need to know where I’m goin’, I just need to know where I’ve been. – Mater (from the movie “Cars”)
Okay, well… I don’t know if that is always true, but it is a fitting quote for today’s post: the 2009 year [...]

Our family grew by 33% this week! Yes, Kristin gave birth to a happy, healthy little girl on Wednesday morning: Emma Irini. Mom and baby are both doing great! We’re looking forward to having them home this weekend. Here are a few snapshots from Emma’s first 36 hours.

The Foula
Sofia (Sofia = Sofoula = Foula… her Greek nickname) is getting so big. Really!
* She runs.
* She tries to jump (it’s the cutest thing ever, even though she doesn’t get off the ground).
* She talks (mom, dad, eat, sit, bird, hot, cold, yes, no, NO!).
* She has conversations (?) and imaginary parties with her dolls.
* [...]

Baby News
Praying Friends -
Sing a song, dance a jig, or just holler into the sky… however you can, join us in praising God! We paid another visit to the specialist this week. We’re excited to report that the doctor could NOT find any sign of the cysts or other abnormalities on the baby. Praise God! The [...]

Baby Update
Hi all -
Thanks for your prayers and encouragement! On Friday, we visited a specialist for an initial scan of the baby. The doctor confirmed the presence of the cysts. The cysts are on the glands that are responsible for producing spinal fluid. The doctor said that these cysts are associated with certain chromosome problems (i.e. [...]

Prayer Needs
Praying Friends -
Would you join us in prayer? We visited the doctor yesterday for a sonogram. Kristin is just over 17 weeks along. The doctor detected two large cysts in the cranium. Everything else is normal and good… but – quite obviously – these cysts are troubling. It is hard [...]

Coming Soon
We’re moved into our new apartment. We love it! However, we don’t have internet access quite yet… nor will we for at least two weeks. We’ll continue to post on the blog as much as possible, but probably just once a week.
Keep us in your prayers! We’ll be in touch soon.

Kingdom Investments
In two weeks, we’re moving into a new apartment (see here). We’re excited about the move! We’ll have more space and more conveniences (e.g. an elevator in which Sofia’s stroller actually fits!). Also, we’ll still be in the city proper, and able to enjoy all the associated amenities (e.g. near public transportation, supermarkets, and entertainment). [...]

Look Out World!
There is a new Sanner on the block… yes, Kristin is pregnant! She is officially three months along and everything seems to be going smoothly (or “absolutely normal” as our doctor likes to say). The due date is December 12. While Kristin has been tired, she is feeling great. Praise God for a healthy mother [...]

Movin’ On Up…
Movin’ on up… to the east side. Well, it may not be an apartment in the sky, but we’re moving! Monday I paid the deposit on our new apartment: a three-bedroom flat in the Ellinoroson neighborhood of Athens (about a ten minute walk north of our current locale). It’s near the Metro (Katehaki station), supermarkets, [...]

Friday Photos – 10/4/09
Happy Friday! Spring is here. We took a great walk in the national gardens on Tuesday to celebrate Kristin’s birthday. The sights and smells of spring are so refreshing. Enjoy!

20 Months and Counting…
As of last week, we’ve been in Athens for 20 months! The time has gone by quickly. We’ve seen many amazing things here: from God’s redemptive work in the lives of refugees to His grace in our own family, as we’ve watched Sofia grow over the last 14 months.
We arrived in Athens in [...]
