I thought that I’d take five minutes and walk you through a few new features on the blog, plus review some top posts from the last few months. First, I’ve added a “sermons” page, where I can add audio from messages at churches here in Greece or back in the States.  Right now there are… [Read more…]

Since Thursday is a regular workday here in Greece, this afternoon (Monday) we’ll join together with a group of our teammates to celebrate Thanksgiving – expatriate style.  Yes, we’ll have turkey and cranberries (both imported from the US), stuffing and even pumpkin pie! Of course, I’m thankful for a lot: God’s grace and faithfulness, an… [Read more…]

I don’t mean to stress you out… but Christmas is just around the corner!  Christmas is a strategic time of ministry here, as many, many refugees are asking questions about the holiday: Why do you celebrate Christmas?  Who is Jesus?  How can you believe that God would become a man, even a baby?  Why would… [Read more…]

Remember Camp?

May 26, 2011

Did you attend camp growing up?  In my own life, God has used it to strengthen, encourage, challenge, convict, and so much more!  This summer Helping Hands (our ministry here) is partnering with a number of other local groups to offer several camp experiences for refugees (men’s camp, family camp, and kids camps).  In the… [Read more…]

December 31, 2010

Two great ways to finish off 2010: First, we’ve been overwhelmed by God’s grace and provision.  As we reflect a bit on 2010, we are so thankful for your support and partnership in ministry and life.  Really, thank you!   We’d love if you’d consider supporting us with a special year-end gift.  It’s not too late. … [Read more…]

Our building – affectionately called the ARC, or Athens Refugee Center – is in need of a makeover.  The building has served us well for over ten years… but now it’s time that we return the favor.  It’s time for an intentional season of maintenance.  For this to become a reality, our ministry needs some… [Read more…]

What We’re Doing

This is shaping up to be the busiest week of our time in the States.   Our week began with speaking at a church on Sunday.  Now we’re hosting a few open houses, visiting with the missions teams at two churches, and speaking on Sunday at another church.  Busy… but it’s been great.  Please keep us… [Read more…]

We’ll be back in the States in just over three months!  During this “home assignment,” we’ll be visiting churches, individual supporters, and other ministry partners in order to share face-to-face about what God is doing among refugees in Greece.  It will be a very busy few months, but we’re looking forward to the opportunity to… [Read more…]

In two weeks, we’re moving into a new apartment (see here).  We’re excited about the move!  We’ll have more space and more conveniences (e.g. an elevator in which Sofia’s stroller actually fits!).  Also, we’ll still be in the city proper, and able to enjoy all the associated amenities (e.g. near public transportation, supermarkets, and entertainment).… [Read more…]
